SMILEY x RATFACE = ?

 

Sage House is honoured to team up with Smiley and Japanese artist Ryuji Kamiyama for global first launch.

Rat Face was created in 2016 in the basement of Shibuya by Ryuji Kamiyama. The rats looked up from the "hole" and looked up at humans. For Ryuji Kamiyama at that time, the underground, darkness, rats and the inner state were closely related. And Rat Face is his expression of tears, which depicts the feeling of looking at the place he longs for in the hole.

After eight years, Rat Face, which symbolizes the yearning for light in the darkness, collides with Smiley, a representative of optimism. Ryuji Kamiyama personally wrote it, combining street art with the well-known yellow smiley face symbol, giving it a new artistic vitality.
